Prayer for Civilians

אֱלֹהֵי הַבְּרִיאוֹת,

קַבֵּל נָא בְּרַחֲמִים אֶת תְּפִלָּתֵנוּ עֲבוּר בְּנוֹת וּבְנֵי אָדָם וְחָוָה, חָפִים מִכָּל פֶּשַׁע וְעָווֹן, אֲשֶׁר מָצְאוּ עַצְמָם בְּתוֹךְ מִלְחָמָה, וְנִזְקָקִים מִתּוֹךְ כָּךְ לְהִלָּחֵם עַל חַיֵּיהֶם, עַל פִּסַּת לֶחֶם וְטִפַּת מַיִם.

אֲנָא, שְׁמוֹר עַל הֶחָפִים מִפֶּשַׁע, וּשְׁלַח רְפוּאָה שְׁלֵמָה, הֲגָנָה וּבְרִיאוּת לְגוּפָם וּלְנַפְשָׁם, לְמַעַן יוֹכְלוּ לַחֲזֹר לְחַיֵּיהֶם, וּלְשַׁקֵּם אֶת בָּתֵּיהֶם בִּמְהֵרָה וּבְיָמֵינוּ. 

אֲנָא יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ, הָגֵּן עָלֵינוּ מִלִּשְׁפֹּט אֶת כָּל יוֹשְׁבֵי עַזָּה לְכַף חוֹבָה. טַע בְּלִבֵּנוּ אַהֲבַת אָדָם וְהַזְכִּירֵנוּ אֶת שְׁאֵלָתוֹ שֶׁל אַבְרָהָם אָבִינוּ- הַאַף תִּסְפֶּה צַדִּיק עִם רָשָׁע?

כִּי יֵשׁ צַדִּיקִים בָּאָרֶץ, וְדֶרֶךְ רְשָׁעִים תֹּאבַד.

וְנָתַתִּי שָׁלוֹם בָּאָרֶץ, וּשְׁכַבְתֶּם וְאֵין מַחֲרִיד.

וְנֹאמַר אָמֵן.

God of all creatures,

Please accept in mercy our prayers for the descendants of Adam and Chawa who are innocent of any crime and misbehaviour, who are in a war, and who have to fight for their lives, for a piece of bread and a drop of water.

Please protect the innocent and give their bodies and souls protection and health so that they can return to their lives and restore their homes as soon as possible.

Please, Eternal One, our God, keep us from condemning all the inhabitants of Gaza as guilty, plant love for people in our hearts and remind us of our father Avraham's question: "Do you really want to snatch away the righteous together with the wicked?" (Bereshit 18:23)

For there are righteous in the land, "but the way of the wicked goes astray" (Tehilim 1:6).

"And I will make peace in the land, and you will lie down, and nothing will make you afraid" (Vayikra 26:6).

And so let us speak: Amen.
